President Pranab Mukherjee gave Maharashtra Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao additional charge of Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli of Madhya Pradesh.

The tenure of Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah ended while that of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav will come to an end on September 7.

• “The Governor of Maharashtra, Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Tamil Naduare made,” said a communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

• “Om Prakash Kohli, the Governor of Gujaratwill discharge the functions of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Madhya Pradeshare made,”
