1. Tripura Becomes Fourth State To Implement E-Cabinet System

In a significant leap towards a more technologically advanced and environmentally responsible governance system, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha recently introduced the state’s e-cabinet system.

This move positions Tripura as the fourth Indian state, and the second in the Northeast region, to adopt an e-cabinet system after Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh.

The introduction of this system signifies a commitment to paperless cabinet meetings, reducing the carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability through the use of digital tablets by ministers and bureaucrats.

2. Escalation of Israel-Palestine Conflict: “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” Unleashed by Hamas Sparks Widespread Violence

The Israel-Palestine conflict has escalated dramatically as Hamas, the armed Palestinian group, initiated “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” firing over 5,000 rockets into Israel.

The situation quickly escalated into a full-scale war, resulting in significant casualties and widespread fear among civilians.

Hamas launched a massive rocket barrage with more than 5,000 rockets targeting Israel. The attacks were swift and intense, causing panic among Israeli citizens.

Reports indicated the use of unconventional methods, such as paragliders, and attacks on civilians on roads.

3. Israel Declared “State of War” After Being Hit By 5,000 Rockets From Gaza

On October 7, Palestinian fighters launched a major attack on Israel, infiltrating southern Israel and firing a barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip. This operation, named “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm,” marks one of the most substantial confrontations between the two sides in years.

The attack began with rocket fire from multiple locations in Gaza and included unexpected tactics such as paragliders and fighters inside Israel.

The day’s celebrations promote fair trade and help developing nations engage in all aspects of the cotton industry to improve their economies. Cotton is a valuable crop grown in many countries around the world and traded internationally.

The theme for World Cotton Day 2023, ‘Making cotton fair and sustainable for all, from farm to fashion,’ is championed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

8. Ramaswamy N Appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of GIC Re

10. Veteran Communist Party Leader Anathalavattom Anandan Passed Away

Veteran CPI(M) leader and former legislator Anathalavattom Anandan, who played a key role in building the trade union base for the party in the state, passed away at a hospital on Thursday. He was 86 years old.

Anandan’s demise occurred while he was undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College hospital in Kerala for a prolonged illness.

Anathalavattom Anandan was born in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram district, in 1937. His journey in the world of politics began in 1954 when he actively participated in an agitation advocating for higher wages for coir workers in his village.

This early involvement laid the foundation for his lifelong dedication to the welfare of the working class.

11. Asian Games 2023: Dipika Pallikal, Harinder Pal Sandhu clinch gold in Squash Mixed

India’s Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu won the gold medal in the mixed doubles squash tournament at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China.

Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu defeated Malaysia’s Aifa Azman-Mohd Syafiq Kamal 2-0 (11-10, 11-10) in the mixed doubles final. This is the first time a squash mixed doubles tournament has featured at the Asian Games.

Aifa Azman and Mohd Syafiq Kamal, both gold medallists in team events at the Asian Games, began aggressively and didn’t let the Indian pair settle. Pallikal and Sandhu struggled with their returns as Azman-Kamal raced to a 10-8 lead.
