China named preferred chief for AIIB

China named a former finance minister as its nominee to head the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Jin Liqun has been named by China as its choice to head the $100 billion AIIB. India by virtue of being the second largest shareholder may get the post of Vice President. The positions of various countries were decided based on the calculations of GDP and the purchasing power parity (PPP).

About Jin Liquin

  • Jin is a Chinese politician.
  • He is the Chairman of Board of Supervisors of the sovereign wealth fund the China Investment Corporation, and its subsidiary Central Huijin Investment Ltd..
  • He is the Secretary General of the Multilateral Interim Secretariat of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
  •  He is also serving as deputy chair of the International Working Group of Sovereign Wealth Funds.
  •  He was formerly the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank, and Vice Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China.
