President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurates 35th IITF in New Delhi




President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 35th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2015 in New Delhi. This year Afghanistan has been the ‘Partner Country’ and Bangladesh as the ‘Focus Country’ in IITF 2015. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has also been roped-in to sell the entry tickets from Monday to Friday for business delegates and later on for the general public from 19 to 27 November.

The business days entry tickets at metro stations are priced at Rs 400 whereas, general day tickets can be purchased at Rs 50 for adult and Rs 30 for children. But, on weekends, the general day tickets will cost Rs 80 and Rs 50 for adults and children per head respectively.

The 14 day fair has been organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under aegis of Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. In this edition over 7,000 firms from India and overseas are participating.

Theme of 2015 edition of IITF is Make in India in order to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India. The major objective behind this international trade festival is to focus on major sectors like automobiles, chemicals, Information Technology (IT), textiles, ports, pharmaceuticals, leather, aviation, tourism and hospitality, railway, auto components, wellness, design manufacturing, renewable energy, mining, bio-technology, and electronics etc.
