Director Subhash Ghai to be awarded with IIFA Lifetime Achievement award 2015

Veteran filmmaker and writer Subhash Ghai will be presented the lifetime achievement award at the 16th edition of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award ceremony, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in June. He will be honored for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.

Some of the famous movies of Subhash Ghai are “Hero”, “Karma”, “Saudagar”, “Khalnayak” and “Pardes”.  His last directorial “Kaanchi: The Unbreakable” released last year and bombed at the box office, and now he is co-producing the remake of his film “Hero”. He is married to Mukta Ghai and they have a daughter Meghna Ghai, who looks after his media institute in Mumbai.

Subhash Ghai has been the part of the film industry since 1967. He started his career in Bollywood as an actor with small roles in films including “Taqdeer” before he called the shots. He had the privilege of directing legendary actor Dilip Kumar with whom he worked in “Vidhaata” (1982), “Karma” (1986) and “Saudagar”.
