8. Kiren Rijiju gets additional charge after Pashupati Kumar Paras resigns from Union cabinet
Former Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) president Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Union Cabinet after his party was not included in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) seat-sharing deal in Bihar for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
As a result, Kiren Rijiju was given the extra responsibility of being minister of food processing industries and President Droupadi Murmu accepted his resignation.
