1. First KIU Games concludes in Bhubaneswar Chandigarh tops medals tally

Khelo India University Games ended in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Panjab University Chandigarh took home the champions trophy-winning 46 medals, including 17 gold 19 silver and ten bronze. Savitribai Phule Pune University Savitribai Phule Pune University claimed the second position and Punjabi University, Patiala declared as the second runners up.

2. Thirty Three crores allocated for Kaziranga under Project Tiger scheme

Financial assistance to the tune of Rs 1.51 crore sanctioned to Kaziranga National Park during the fiscal years 2018-19 and 2019-2020 under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA).

3. Andhra Pradesh appoints ex-finance secretary as adviser to CM Jagan

Andhra Pradesh government appoints retired former Union finance secretary, Subhash Chandra Garg, as an advisor to chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to help the cash-strapped state mobilize resources. Garg has been given the rank of a cabinet minister in the state government and tenure of two years.

4. PM Benjamin Netanyahu claims victory

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed victory in Israel’s general election 2020. The early results put him ahead of his rival Benny Gantz. Benjamin Netanyahu is Israel’s longest-serving leader. He is seeking a record fifth term, having been in office from 1996 to 1999 and again from 2009.

5. Suposhit Maa Abhiyan was launched in Kota, Rajasthan

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla launched “Suposhit Maa Abhiyan” from Kota, Rajasthan. The aim is to create malnutrition-free India. Suposhit Maa Abhiyan will provide nutritional support to pregnant women and adolescent girls.

6. Tasnim Mir, Mansi Singh win bronze at Dutch Junior International

Young Indian shuttlers Tasnim Mir and Mansi Singh won a bronze medal each in the girls’ singles event at the Dutch Junior International 2020 in Haarlem, Netherlands. It was the first time India won two bronze medals in girls’ singles at this BWF Junior International Grand Prix tournament.

7. Oppo launches ‘Kash’ mutual fund platform, offers SIPs from ₹100

OPPO announced its foray into financial services with ‘OPPO Kash’ that offers users to invest in mutual funds, along with free credit reports, personal loans up to two lakh, business loans up to ₹2 crore and screen insurance.

Coming pre-installed in all OPPO smartphones, five products have been launched in the beta release with Freedom systematic investment plan (SIP) as a unique offer.

8. Zomato, RBL Bank, Mastercard Partner to Offer Co-Branded ‘Edition Credit Cards’

Food delivery platform Zomato has joined the likes of Amazon, Flipkart, and Ola, to offer a co-branded credit card for its customers. Zomato announced a strategic partnership with RBL Bank to launch Edition Credit Cards powered by Mastercard. These co-branded credit cards centred around food experiences will offer a host of benefits for cardholders every time they use Zomato or spend online and offline.

9. Rajeev Suri to step down as Nokia CEO; Pekka Lundmark to take over

Rajeev Suri, the chief executive of Nokia, is stepping down from his leadership role after overseeing the Finnish networking giant for more than half a decade. Pekka Lundmark, the outgoing President and CEO of energy firm Fortum, has been elected as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nokia, the Finnish company announced.

10. RBI receives ₹1.71 trillion in LTRO

The Reserve Bank of India said it has received ₹1.71 trillion in the third long-term repo operation (LTRO) conducted for an amount of ₹25,000 crore. The central bank received 66 bids in the three-year tenor LTRO, which has reversal date on March 1, 2023.

11. AAP MLA Raghav Chadha Appointed Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Monday appointed first-time MLA Raghav Chadha as vice-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). Chadha (31), represents the Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency.

Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha and Deoli MLA Prakash Jarwal were appointed as DJB members. Urban Development Minister Satyendar Jain is the chairman of the board.

12. Jack Welch, G.E. Chief Who Became a Business Superstar, Dies at 84

Jack Welch, who led General Electric through two decades of extraordinary corporate prosperity and became the most influential business manager of his generation, died at his home in Manhattan. He was 84.
