Country’s first ‘water tourism’ to begin in Madhya Pradesh

The country’s first ‘water tourism’ will begin in Madhya Pradesh next month with the aim of attracting more tourists to the state.
Named as ‘Jal Mahotsav’, the 10-day extravaganza will be inaugurated on February 12 in Hanuwantiya at Indra Sagar Dam, one of Asia’s largest man-made water reservoir. Hanuwantiya, which is under Khandwa district of the state, is about 130 kms from Indore and 280 kms from state capital Bhopal.

Water tourism is traveling by boat while on holiday, with the express purpose of seeing things meant for the water tourist. This can be traveling from luxury port to luxury port in a cruise ship, but also joining boat-centered events such as regattas or landing a small boat for lunch or other day recreation at specially prepared day boat-landings. Also known as a boating holiday, it is a form of tourism that is generally more popular in the summertime. Those who are planning on bringing their own boats to these events might want to make sure that their boat is up to code and have had their maintenance check, this includes having their engine serviced as well as installing any bronze nuts that will help with mitigating rust so they can safely enjoy this boating holiday.

Bringing your own boat has the added advantage of not waiting endlessly in queues to sail one. But you also need to be equipped with proper safety gear and techniques in order to sail effortlessly.
Being prepped may also help eliminate the risk of your boat capsizing or any other similar misfortunes.
