Bernie Sanders introduces legislation to end federal ban on marijuana

Bernie Sanders introduced legislation on 4th November 2015 that would end the federal prohibition on marijuana, removing the drug from the federal government’s list of the “most dangerous” substances. This is the most welcome news for the westcoastcannabis company and many others. Under Sanders’ plan, marijuana would not automatically become legal. Rather, states would have the right to decide whether or not they want to legalize the drug – without fear of federal impediment. His bill would not permit the transportation of marijuana across state lines. Legalizing this drug can have a specific impact on the economy, and many might be able to grow marijuana (using fertilizer for cannabis and similar products) in order to use it in their business.

Those who need it will be able to access it when essential and not fear that they may be prosecuted. They will also be able to buy weed online and have it delivered to where they are through this potential new system and law. Businesses will also be able to operate in a safer manner if this is accepted within their state, so they can serve the customers who are in need and have been waiting for something like this to happen. They may also branch out and offer other products in the same line which they can sell in smell proof bags because even though it will be legal the smell of it can be overpowering to some and they want to be discrete.

Sanders said that the federal marijuana prohibition has blighted the lives of too many young people. People are calling Sanders’ legislation is a milestone: the first time such a bill has been introduced in the chamber. He became the first major-party presidential candidate to speak out in support of ending marijuana prohibition

About Bill:

  • His bill would not permit the transportation of marijuana across state lines.
  • The bill is also intended to allow growers and dispensers to use the banks, which routinely shun business from the legal pot industry for fear they will be shut down by federal authorities.
  • four states – Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska – as well as the District of Columbia have legalized the use of recreational marijuana.
  • A recent Gallup poll found that 58% of Americans support legalizing marijuana.
