BCCI signs MoU with TERI to promote renewable energy

Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) y signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (Teri) for promoting renewable energy.

“We signed the MoU with the chamber to popularise clean energy and climate. We will work with BCCI with our technical resource. We can offer technology and business models on renewables,” TERI director general Ajay Mathur said in Kolkata . State Power Minister Shobandeb Chatterjee, who was present on the occasion, promised all support to the clean energy initiative by the BCCI.

BCCI energy committee chairman Deb A Mukherjee said the agreement will forge an alliance between the chamber and TERI to work toghther in the domain of renewables.

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is a research institute based in New Delhi that conducts research work in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. Established in 1974, it was formerly known as Tata Energy and Resource Institute.As the scope of its activities widened, it was renamed The Energy and Resources Institute in 2003.TERI was registered in Delhi in 1974 as the Tata Energy Research Institute.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a chamber of commerce based in West Bengal, India.Established in 1853, it is the only such institution in India. The organization has its headquarters at the former Royal Exchange in B. B. D. Bagh, Kolkata, which was once the residence of Robert Clive, the first Governor-General of India.
