1.P complete a work in 20 days. Q complete the same work in 30 days. P starts the work and Q join him after 10 days. if the remuneration for the work is rupees 480. what is P’s share?

1)386         2)384         3)385              4)383         5) None of these

Ans: 2

Concept:

1/20 *10 + (1/30+1/20)x =1

X =6

Therefore total work completed in 10+6 = 16 days

Now 1/20+Q =1/16 Q=1/80

Therefore ratio of P:Q = 20:80=1:4

Since P can complete the work faster than Q Therefore efficiency ratio of both P:Q=4:1

Therefore 480*4/5 = 384 .
