Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami died after killing 10 militants

Indian Army has paid last tributes to Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami, a special forces commando who was a part of three back-to-back operations which killed 10 militants in Jammu and Kashmir. Goswami created a unique history of valour and dedication. He had eliminated 10 militants in a short span of 11 days before making the supreme sacrifice while battling militants in Kupwara, Kashmir.  His mortal remains were laid to rest at his ancestral home in Bindukhatta near Nainital with full military honours. He is survived by his wife and a 7-year-old daughter.

Lance Naik Goswami volunteered to join the elite Para Commando outfit of the Army in 2002. He was one of the toughest soldiers of his unit.

Three Back to Back Operations

In the first operation, three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists hailing from Pakistan were killed in Khurmur, Handwara on August 23.

He again volunteered for a second back-to-back operation in which three more Lashkar terrorists were killed and another terrorist was captured alive during the two day-long fierce fire fight in Rafiabad after a fierce fire fight on August 26-27.

Once again, volunteered to be part of an ongoing operation launched in the dense Hafruda forest near Kupwara, Kashmir. This proved to be his last operation but not before elimination of four terrorists in a heavy gun battle.
