Indian women’s kabaddi team won the country’s first gold medal at the Asian Beach Games 2016, defeating Thailand . The team has set the record by winning five consecutive gold medals at the Games since 2008, defeating Thailand every time in the final. Meanwhile, Indian men’s kabaddi team won the silver after losing out to Pakistan in the final.
Pakistan finished as the runners-up in the last two editions of the Asian Beach Games in 2012 and 2014.

Asian Beach Games

The Fifth Asian Beach Games will be held in Danang, Vietnam. It will be the second time for Vietnam to host an Asia level multi-sports event, after Hanoi held Asian Indoor Games (2009) and Southeast Asian Games (2003). However, this is the first time that an event will not be held in Hanoi.
