Union Government gives nod to IAF’s Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS)

Union Government approved  Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS) with approximate Investment of Rs. 8,000-crore. Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS) is  a project of Indian Air force. Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) took the decision. PM Narendra Modi sanctioned the project which was proposed by Defence Acquisition Council(DAC)

About Integrated Air Command and Control System:

  • It is an automated command and control system for Air Defence (AD) planned by the Indian Air Force.
  • It will offer connectivity for all the ground platforms and airborne platforms, as a part of the network centricity of IAF.
  • The IACCS also facilitates real-time transport of images, data and voice, among satellites, aircraft and ground stations.
  • presently, India has 5 IACCS nodes and they are planning to implement four more and will soon establish 10 sub-nodes.

  • It was officially established on 8 October 1932.
