Indians won 3 gold at World Junior boxing

Indian junior boxers gave a superb performance at the AIBA Women’s Junior World Junior Boxing Championships and clinched a total of 5 medals in which three are gold and two are silver medals.  The Gold Medal Winners are Savita (50kg), Mandeep Sandhu (52kg) and Sakshi (54kg). The Silver medal winners are Soniya (48kg) and Niharika Gonella (70kg).

Soniya went down 1-2 against American Heaven Garcia to open the Indian account with a silver medal. Savita defeated Ukrainian Kateryna Rohova 2-1 to clinch the first gold of the day for India. Mandeep triumph over Ireland’s Niamh Earley 3-0 and Sakshi out-punched American Yarisel Ramirez 3-0. Niharika proved no match for Russian Anastasiia Sigaeva and lost 0-3 to settle for a silver medal. Earlier in the youth competition, Jamuna Boro (57kg) had bagged a bronze medal after losing in the semifinals.
