Indian journalist Philip Abraham elected Deputy Mayor in UK

An Indian journalist has been unanimously elected the Deputy Mayor of Loughton town in the UK. Councillor Carol Davis, the newly-elected mayor presented the Deputy Mayor’s Badge to Mr. Philip Abraham. The Deputy Mayor normally goes on to become the Mayor for the following year. Mr. Abraham, a journalist from Kerala, had in 2012 won the election to the Loughton Town Council. Loughton is a vibrant town in the Epping forest district of Essex.

  • It is located between 11 and 13 miles (21 km) north east of Charing Cross in London, south of the M25 and west of the M11 motorway and has boundaries with Chingford,Waltham Abbey, Theydon Bois, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill.
