1. International Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories 25-31 May

It is International Week of Solidarity with Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories every year from May 25 to May 31.

It is called a Non-Self-Governing Territory by the UN because the people who live there “have not yet gained a complete degree of self-government.”

Today is a time to ask the countries that are in charge of these areas to protect and honour the peoples’ rights to their natural resources and property.

There are 17 regions left in the world that do not have their own government.

“International Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories” is what the UN calls the week of May 25–31.

This day was created by the UN General Assembly on December 6, 1999, to bring attention to the difficulties of these areas and support their right to decide for themselves.

“Non-Self-Governing Territory” is a term used by the UN Charter to describe a place where the people have not yet achieved full self-government.

4. Mission ISHAN: Streamlining India’s Airspace for Enhanced Efficiency

India is starting Mission ISHAN, which aims to combine all of its separate airspace control systems into a single, unified one with its headquarters in Nagpur.

This change could completely change how air travel is managed, which would be good for both airlines and passengers.

Present Situation

India’s airspace is currently split into four flight information regions (FIRs) and one sub-FIR. Each is run separately.

This division makes it harder to coordinate, be efficient, and handle a lot of people at once.

What We See

As part of Mission ISHAN, all FIRs will be combined into one area that will be run out of Nagpur.

This centralization should make operations run more smoothly, make things safer, and add more space, which is very important for meeting the rising demand in the flight industry.
