1. India Today’s AI anchor Sana wins global media award

It was announced that Sana has been awarded the Global Media Award for 2024 by the International News Media Association (INMA).

Sana is a leading example of cutting-edge application of artificial intelligence in boosting consumer engagement through its multilingual and varied reporting capabilities. It is recognized as the top AI newsroom innovation in South Asia from a technological standpoint.

The India Today Group made Sana India’s first artificial intelligence anchor in the year 2023.

2. Gina Justus wins 2024 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards

Gina Justus, a dedicated teacher from Our Own English High School, Sharjah Girls’ Branch, wins the MENA regional 2024 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards.

Originating from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and serving in the UAE since 2005, Justus stands out among over 14,840 nominations from 141 countries.

It is a global competition that honors exceptional primary and secondary school teachers.

3. International Dance Day: 29th April

The International Dance Committee of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute was the one who initially proposed the concept of World Dance Day in the year 1982.

More than two hundred countries throughout the world observe World Dance Day as a worldwide celebration.

The purpose of International Dance Day is to bring attention to the significance of dance as an art form all over the world. This day is devoted to those who are interested in dance.

4. Manoj Kumar (IRS) appointed as CVO of JNPA

The appointment of Manoj Kumar, an Indian Revenue Service officer, to the position of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has been passed by the Central Government.

As of the date of his assumption of office, Kumar has been appointed to the position of Chief Vice Officer of the JNPA for an initial period of three years.

Kumar will take over for Vidyadhar A. Malegaonkar (IRTS) under the new task that he has been given.

The JNPA, which is often referred to as Nhava Sheva, is situated in Navi Mumbai.

5. A Book Titled “The Winner’s Mindset,” Authored by Shane Watson

In late 2014, the cricketing world witnessed one of its greatest tragedies unfold on the field.

Shane Watson, the talented Australian all-rounder, was among the players present at the Sydney Cricket Ground when Phillip Hughes was struck by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match.

6. Sunil Kumar Yadav (IRS) Appointed as Director of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs

It has been announced that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has welcomed a new member to its core leadership team.

An officer from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) named Sunil Kumar Yadav has been appointed to the position of Director of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Appointments Based on the Central Staffing Scheme

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order that led to the employment of Sunil Kumar Yadav. This appointment was made following the Central Staffing Scheme requirements.

The ruling stipulates that Yadav’s tenure as Director of MoHUA would be for five years beginning on the date that he assumes charge or until additional orders are issued, whichever occurs first.
