Ansari to inaugurate new building of state UPSIC in Lucknow

Vice- President Hamid Ansari would inaugurate the new building of Uttar Pradesh State Information Commission (UPSIC) in Gomtinagar area of the state capital. The programme was scheduled on July 8 but was postponed to July 11 following the festival of Eid.

  • State Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav along with several state ministers and other digniteries would also be present at the function.
  • The new building was constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore. The Commission had already been shifted on April 11.
  • District magistrate Raj Shekhar said, “Nearly 1000 police force, 15 magistrates, 10 additional SPs, five quick response teams, 10 route check teams, 100 roof-top check teams (for high rise buildings on the route and at the venue) would be deployed.
  • Separate teams are deployed for warding off any kind of protests and agitations on the route and at the venue point.
  • The ground floor of the new building have three courts besides all the offices including that of the registrar and others.
  • The first floor has the office of the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) along with two other Information commissioner.
  • The second floor has the office of four information commissioners plus court rooms and the third floor has a canteen.
