Vikram Gokhale to receive Vishnudas Bhave Award

Vikram Gokhale on 5 November 2015 was conferred with the prestigious Vishnudas Bhave Award at a ceremony held in Sangli, Maharashtra on the eve of Marathi Rangbhumi Din. Gokhale was honoured for his outstanding contribution to Marathi theatre. Prominent actress-singer Faiyaz Shaikh presented the award.

Gokhale has acted in noted Marathi films like “Lapandav”, “Kalat Nakalat”, “Vazir”, “Bala Gau Kashi Angar” and recently “Anumati”.

Cabinet clears tourism MoU with Colombia

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of India and the Ministry of TRADE Industry and Tourism of Colombia for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.

On 5th November 2001 the UN General Assembly passed a resolution declaring the from that year onward 6th November would be designated as The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. Though mankind has always counted its war casualties in terms of dead and wounded soldiers and civilians, destroyed cities and livelihoods, the environment has often remained the unpublicized victim of war.Water wells have been polluted, crops torched, forests cut down, soils poisoned, and animals killed to gain military advantage.

Justin Trudeau sworn in as Prime Minister of Canada

Justin Trudeau has been sworn as Prime Minister of Canada on 4th November 2015. His selection marks a new era of Liberal politics after an election. He was sworn in as Canada’s 23rd prime minister of Canada. His father ruled the nation for two decades. Pierre Trudeau, who died in 2000, was prime minister from 1968 to 1979, and again from 1980 to 1984. He is considered the father of modern Canada.

FIFA World Rankings 2015: Belgium topped for first time

Belgium on 5 November 2015 moved to the top of the FIFA world ranking list in football for the first time. The team rose from third to first after overtaking Argentina and world champions Germany. This follows their victories in October’s European qualifiers.

Union Cabinet gives nod to UDAY Scheme for financial restructuring package for power DISCOMs

Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its nod Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojna (UDAY) for financial restructuring of debt of power distribution companies. The Scheme aims for financial turnaround and revival of Power Distribution companies (DISCOMs) and also ensures a sustainable permanent solution to the problem.

Union Cabinet gives nod to MoU between India and Belgium in the field of energy

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Belgium for cooperation in development of new and renewable energy technologies. The MoU will be signed between Union Ministry of Power and respective Belgian government authority at the Federal and regional level.
