Karnataka girl, Srinidhi Shetty, becomes second Indian to win Miss Supranational 2016

India has earned yet another feather in the cap as far as beauty pageants go. Mangaluru girl, Srinidhi Shetty , was crowned Miss Supranational 2016 at a grand ceremony in Krynica Zdroj, Poland. She also won the title of Miss Asia-Oceania.
  • Srinidhi became the second Indian to win the title after Asha Bhat in 2014. India is the first country to win Miss Supranational twice in three years. Miss Supranational along with Miss World and Miss Universe is among the top three beauty pageants on the planet.
  • The 23-year-old engineer, who studied in Bengaluru, beat 80 contestants to the finish line. “Unlike other pageants, the jury did not ask questions. Instead, the five finalists were told to ask one another questions.
  •  Venezuela’s Valeria Vespoli was placed second followed by Suriname’s Jaleesa Pigot. Ornella Gunesekere of Sri Lanka came fourth while Hungary’s Korinna Kocsis finished fifth.
  • Srinidhi had tasted her first major success when she was crowned Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Supranational India 2016.

Srinidhi Ramesh Shetty (born 21 October 1992) is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Diva–Miss Supranational India in the Miss Diva – 2016 and also Miss Supranational 2016.

Srinidhi Ramesh Shetty is the daughter of Mr. Ramesh Shetty from Mulki, Mangalore and Mrs. Kushala Shetty from Thalapady, Mangalore. She was born on 21 October 1992. Her schooling happened in Sri Narayana Guru English Medium School, Mulki followed by PUC at St. Aloysius Pre University College, Mangalore, Karnataka.
