1. IIT Kanpur develops energy-efficient system to transport minerals

IIT – Kanpur has developed a compressed air-based mineral transport system. The project was presented at the Global Investors Summit, in 2023. It received good feedback for its less material loss, reduced air pollution, and efficiency to reduce travel time to a great extent. The main objective of the system is to transport coal and slurry.

2. National Tribal Festival – Aadi Mahotsav

The Tribal Ministry is conducting the Aadi Mahotsav festival to promote tribal products. TRIFED organizes the festival on behalf of the ministry. The main objective of conducting Aadi Mahotav is to prevent the middlemen from exploiting the tribals.

Profits of the tribal are swept away by the middlemen and their hard work goes in vain. To put an end to the system and provide direct access to markets, TRIFED is organizing the National Tribal Festival called the Aadi Mahotsav. The festival was conducted in New Delhi.

3. Karnataka Bank awarded ‘Prathista Puraskar for achieving highest percentage in BHIM-UPI transactions

Karnataka Bank was awarded with ‘Prathista Puraskar’ under ‘Digidhan Awards 2021-22’ by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), government of India for achieving target with highest percentage in BHIM-UPI transactions in private sector bank category.

Labelled as ‘KBL-NxT’, the bank is currently undertaking an accelerated digital drive under its transformation journey ‘KBL VIKAAS 2.0’.

4. India, US Forces Run Joint Exercise Tarkash

A joint counter-terrorism exercise Tarkash between National Security Guard (NSG) and US Special Operations Forces (SOF) culminated in Chennai, after four weeks of intense training and joint anti-terror exercises.

The main highlight of the exercise was mock drills for the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) counter terror response by special forces of both countries.

5. Subhash Chandran awarded Kerala’s Akbar Kakkattil award for ‘Samudrasila’

Writer Subhash Chandran’s novel Samudrashila has been chosen for the Akbar Kakkattil Award instituted by a trust in the memory of the short story writer and novelist from Kozhikode.

The novel was selected by a three-member jury from among the literary works published in the last five years. This novel also won the M. Sukumaran Memorial Literary Award for the year 2021.

6. Lexi, India’s First AI-Based Chatbot Introduced in India

India now has its own ChatGPT-powered AI chatbot called Lexi that Velocity, a financial technology company, launched a few days ago. This chatbot is designed to provide assistance to e-Commerce founders with business insights in a simplified manner.

Moreover, it has been integrated with Velocity’s own analytics tool i.e. Velocity Insights. The Velocity firm made the official chatbot announced in an online blog post.

7. World Bank Chief David Malpass to Resign before his Tenure

On February 15, 2023 (Wednesday), the 13th President of the World Bank, David R. Malpass officially declared his early retiral before his incumbency. He fails to acknowledge the scientific agreement on Global Warming, stirring concerns about the bank’s inefficiency to halt funding of fossil fuels.

8. Aero India 2023: New Solar Power ISR Drone ‘Suraj’ Launched by Garuda Aerospace

This highly capable ISR drone named ‘Suraj’ carries a versatile payload of high-resolution zoom cameras designed with thermal imagery as well as foliage-penetrating lidar sensors. Also, the maximum capacity of this device is approximately 10 kg, as per the announcement.

The Garuda corporation presented the latest solar-powered unmanned reconnaissance aerial J-Glider – SURAJ at the Aero India 2023 show which was conducted in Bengaluru, India.

9. Rishab Shetty honoured with most promising actor award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival

Rishabh Shetty, who is recognized all over the world with the film Kantara, will receive the award at the Taj Land End Hotel. Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival is one of them and many talents are honored with this award every year.

He has been honoured with the prestigious award for the most promising actor at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2023.
