1. Lt General Faiz Hameed appointed Pakistan ISI chief

Pakistan has appointed Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed as the new Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He was previously serving as the head of the Counter Intelligence wing in the ISI. Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed replaces Lieutenant Gen Asim Munir, who was appointed to head the ISI only eight months ago.”

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is constructing a road using plastic waste for the first time ever. The road is constructed from Gomti Nagar Police Station to Indian Institute of Management (IIM) under a pilot project by LDA in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The LDA has followed guidelines of the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) in road construction.

8.33rd Federation Cup Basketball Tournament 2019

At the 33rd Federation Cup Basketball Championship for Men and Women held over the past week in Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, Punjab Police and Eastern Railway won the men’s and women’s titles respectively….

Punjab Police won the match by winning over Indian Army with 91-71. The bulk of scoring was done by Harshpreet Singh Bhullar, Amjyot Singh and Ranbir Singh.

9. World Food India 2019 to be held in New Delhi

Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, recently announced that World Food India 2019 will be held at Vigyan Bhawan and Rajpath Lawns in New Delhi from 1st to 4th November 2019.

The announcement was made while Smt. Kaur was chairing a meeting with various stakeholders of World Food India including CEOs of major food processing companies and Industry Associations.

10. Paytm Mall names Rudra Dalmia as Exec Director, Board member

Paytm Mall has named Rudra Dalmia as the Executive Director and also appointed him to its board. Dalmia is an SRCC alumnus and has an MBA from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. “I welcome [Dalmia] to Paytm family…am proud to see him as a board member of Paytm e-commerce,” Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said.

11. Rashid Khan 1st spinner in history to give away 100 runs in an ODI

World number three ODI bowler Rashid Khan has become the first spinner in history to give away 100 runs in an ODI. The 20-year-old Afghan conceded 110 runs including 11 sixes and three fours off his nine overs against England in their 2019 World Cup match today. As many as 12 fast bowlers have conceded 100+ runs in an ODI.

12. Eoin Morgan breaks world record for hitting most sixes in an ODI

England captain Eoin Morgan set the world record for most sixes (17) in an ODI, achieving the feat during his 71-ball 148-run knock against Afghanistan in World Cup today. The previous record (16 sixes) was jointly held by Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Morgan also smashed the fastest World Cup hundred by an England player (57 balls).

Autistic Pride Day, originally an Aspies for Freedom initiative, is a pride celebration for autistics held on 18 June each year. Autistic pride recognises the importance of pride for autistics and its role in bringing about positive changes in the broader society.
