1. China, Pakistan, Thailand, Mongolia to hold military exercise “Shared Destiny-2021”

The armed force of the country China, Pakistan, Mongolia and Thailand will take part in a multinational peacekeeping exercise named “Shared Destiny-2021”. The exercise will be held in China in the month of September 2021. The four countries will take part in the first multinational peacekeeping live exercise “Shared Destiny-2021” at the combined-arms tactical training base of the PLA in Henan’s Queshan county.

2. Mansukh Mandaviya appointed Chairperson of Stop TB Partnership Board

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya has taken over charge as the Chairperson of Stop TB Partnership Board. He has replaced Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan as the chairman. India aims to end TB by 2025 while the UN aims to end TB by 2030.

3. G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment held in Italy

The First-ever G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment was held at Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. It was held in mixed format i.e people participated in physical form and via video conference also. The Union Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt. Smriti Irani addressed the meet on behalf of India. The Union Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment towards addressing gender and women-centric issues through mutual cooperation.

4. Sonu Sood to be brand ambassador by Delhi govt for ‘Desh ke Mentors’ Programme

Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has announced that Bollywood actor Sonu Sood will be the brand ambassador of the Delhi government’s ‘Desh Ke Mentors’ programme. The programme will be soon launched by Delhi Government. The programme entails “adopting” one to ten government school students who can be mentored by citizens who are successful in their respective fields.

5. Ministry of Labour & Employment launches e-Shram Portal

Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched e-Shram Portal to link Unorganised Workers with social security schemes being implemented by the Central and State Governments. Minister for Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav has launched the portal where 38 crore Unorganised Workers can register themselves and in turn benefit from various social security schemes.

6. BPR&D collaborates with AICTE to launch India’s first hackathon “MANTHAN 2021”

The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have launched a unique national Hackathon named ‘MANTHAN 2021’. The basic objective of this hackathon is to identify innovative concepts and technology solutions for addressing the security challenges of the 21st century faced by the intelligence agencies of the country and empower these enforcement agencies.

7. Forbes Data: Delhi has world’s most CCTV Cameras in Public Places

According to Chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi has surpassed the megacities like Shanghai, New York and London in having the greatest number of CCTV cameras installed per square mile.

CM cited a Forbes India report on most surveilled cities across the world. Forbes India report has ut Delhi on the top with 1,826.6 CCTV cameras per square mile. Delhi is followed by London with 1,138 cameras per square mile. Chennai was placed at third place with 609.9 CCTV cameras.

8. QSim- India’s first Quantum Computer Simulator Toolkit

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the India’s first ‘Quantum Computer Simulator (QSim) Toolkit’. QSim is the first-of-its-kind toolkit, indigenously developed in India.

It meant to be a vital tool of learning and understanding the practical aspects of programming with the help of Quantum Computers. It will thus bring about a new era of Quantum Computing research in India.

9. Bhavina Patel wins India’s first medal at Tokyo Paralympics 2020, clinches silver in Para Table Tennis

Bhavina Patel created history on August 29, 2021 by becoming the first Indian Table tennis player to win silver medal at Paralympics. She won silver in the women’s singles class 4 at Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

She had stormed into the finals after beating China’s Zhang Miao 3-2 in her Class 4 match. She ended with a podium finish after losing out China’s Zhou Ying 11-7, 11-5, 11-6 in the Class 4 Para Table Tennis finals.

10. Bharat Series registration mark for vehicles: What is BH-series? How will it benefit vehicle owners?

The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways in vide notification dated August 26, 2021, introduced a new registration mark for new vehicles under the ‘Bharat series (BH-series)’ to facilitate seamless transfer of vehicles.

Keeping in mind the cumbersome process of re-registration of vehicles when relocating or moving to another state, the Government rolled a new Bharat Series registration mark scheme which will not require an individual to get a new registration number for the vehicle if they move to another state.
