Salesforce acquires machine learning startup

Salesforce is the largest CRM tool in the world with thousands of companies and millions of employees using it to help their marketing, customer relations and business growth. If you click here then you will be able to see how other tools like Hubspot can integrate with Salesforce in order to improve a business’s technology solutions.

Talking about integration, did you know that you can send Salesforce SMS with Heymarket’s CRM Integration? With Heymarket’s Salesforce integration (https://www.heymarket.com/integrations/salesforce/), individuals can close deals faster and drive up customer satisfaction. You can send and receive SMS messages with your leads and contacts in Salesforce and see how it improves sales, customer service, marketing, and even internal communication. Due to its size, Salesforce is constantly trying to improve the services it provides its clients so they can stay ahead of other CRM solutions on the market. In light of the fact that companies often hire a salesforce consultant to ensure the software solution meets their customer relationship management requirements, Salesforce always tries to stay ahead of the curve. And as part of Salesforce’s constant need to improve, they often acquire up-and-coming companies that are pioneering the way the industry is run.

Salesforce has acquired PredictionIO, a startup with general-purpose open-source machine learning software. Salesforce plans to use some of the techs to build out Salesforce’s own machine learning capabilities as part of SalesforceIQ, both in-house as well as in products for Salesforce customers. PredictionIO’s CEO and co-founder Simon Chan noted that the startup’s team – which includes other co-founders Donald Szeto, Kenneth Chan, and Thomas Stone – will be joining Salesforce after the transaction closes.

Machine learning has become increasingly important to Salesforce, which has acquired RelateIQ and Tempo AI, among other companies. The company has been building out a data science team and has picked up talent in that area from LinkedIn, among other places. From analysis and data processing to resiliency, tracking, and auditing, when done correctly, machine learning operations could be one of the valuable practices that the organization can have.

Machine learning can be used in many applications, and other software companies have acquired machine learning startups too. Other machine learning startups include H2O and Skytree. PredictionIO started in 2013 and was based in Palo Alto, California. The startup raised a $2.5 million round in 2014.
