Bengaluru-based fashion e-tailer Myntra Designs Pvt Ltd’s chief technology and product officer Shamik Sharma has moved on to an advisory role and Ajit Narayanan has been appointed as the new CTO of the Flipkart-owned firm.

• Sharma, a former Yahoo and Lytro employee, had joined Myntra in September 2012.

• Narayanan was formerly the head of engineering at the Mukesh Bansal-founded fashion portal.

• Ajit Narayanan has been appointed as the new CTO of Myntra. Ajit was earlier heading storefront engineering and has been a key leader in several of Myntra’s innovations. Ajit has been elevated to head all engineering at Myntra.

Myntra is an Indian fashion e-commerce marketplace company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The company was founded in 2007 by Indian Institute of Technology graduates with a focus on personalisation of gift items. By 2010, Myntra shifted its focus to the online retailing of branded apparel.

In May 2014, Myntra.com merged with Flipkart to compete against Amazon which entered the Indian market in June 2013 and other established offline retailers like Future Group, Aditya Birla Group and Reliance Retail.
