Buddha In A Traffic Jam wins best original screenplay award at the Madrid Film Festival

Vivek Agnihotri’s political satire Buddha In A Traffic Jam film has won the best original screenplay in a Foreign Language award at the Madrid International Film Festival. The film festival, which started on July 2 and ended on July 11, is an annual film jamboree focusing on independent films. The Buddha In A Traffic Jam stars Arunoday Singh and Mahi Gill in a lead role along with Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and introduces Anchal Dwivedi. Other than this award category, the film was also nominated in other two categories viz. the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Lead Actress in a Foreign Language Film to actress Mahi Gill.

Tidbits

“Buddha In A Traffic Jam” premiered in the 2014 version of Mumbai International Film Festival in the India Gold category with a standing ovation and great reviews.

The film was also bestowed awards and was the opening film in the 7th Global Film Festival.

Agnihotri made his directorial debut with Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets (2005) and followed it with Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007) and the erotic thriller Hate Story.
